Void vs Refund?

Void vs Refund?

Here are key points:

  • LawPay allows a VOID within the first 24 hours of the transaction.

  • Once a VOID completes, it’s like the transaction never happened for the contact/client.

  • Refunds are best when they are done via CampLegal because they POST immediately.

  • Refunds are technically separate transactions and can be done for less than total amount.

  • They are only done for Credit Cards and ACH.  Cash and Check transaction you can only VOID.

  • After 6 months of the original transaction, they will have to call LawPay to manually do a refund.  Also, they need to keep an eye out for the REFUND transaction to come into CampLegal, they might have to get CampLegal’s support involved to assist.
