Bi-Directional Color-Coding Key

Bi-Directional Color-Coding Key

The Bi-Directional feature will add and update data from the Contact Details to the PDF Forms and update data from the PDF Forms to the Contact Details.  The Bi-Directional fields are now color coded and give the user full-control over the data in the form.

The Color Key

Idea
Green fields are Bi-Directional.

These fields will auto-fill when a form is added to a case, will update contact details, and other forms in  open cases for that client. These fields can also be modified.

Notes
Yellow fields only auto-fill.

These fields will auto-fill when a form is added to a case, can be modified, will not update contact details, and will save “as-is” in the PDF forms.

Please note: very few fields are  Yellow , because the system will auto-fill from the Contact Details but in select situations you need full-control over that field.  An example, would be the N-400 in the Employment or School section, right now we have not added the ability to combine Educational History with Employment History, we will do this in the future.  We will auto-fill with Employment History but give you full-control to change it.

Warning
Red fields will auto-fill and update.

These fields will auto-fill when a form is added to a case, cannot be modified, and will update within another form in the same case or any other case.

Please note:  For example, when a form is assigned to a member of the case, usually the person's last name is at the top and possibly in other fields in the form like in the Additional Information section.  If we allowed a user to update any of the Last Names we would not know which one to properly save unless all of them were updated, which defeats the purpose of Bi-Directional.
